"I underestimated the importance of writing great essays. I thought that test scores alone would get me to the promised land. I wrote robotic essays that had no soul in it. Reading my essay out loud helped me a lot to feel how my essay sounded. If I were to put two spectrums, I would put being too robotic on the left side and being too dramatic on the right side. I was too much on the left side. But once I was in the middle, I got too much on the right side too, I channeled too much of the beautiful lyrics of the songs from the 60s through the 90s. I was happy to be redirected back to the middle by my coach. I realized the importance of finding the balance between underestimating and overestimating something. I also realized the importance of looking inside myself and actually reflecting on myself.
